Ok, before we get to the cookies, just a few random pictures of my almost two year old. The time has gone by so fast. He is such a joy right now. Even when he's making trouble I have to smile because he usually has a darn good time doing it!
We have a humongous Bear that he loves to jump on and climb on. The other morning he insisted it come eat breakfast with him. He gave it kisses and was just so darn happy!
And he discovered a new way to sit on the barstools the other day. It really is a miracle we haven't had an ER visit with him yet!
On to the cookie making…….Saturday night Elf on the Shelf thought that sugar cookie making sounded like the perfect Sunday activity. So, he got out the cookie cutters and the recipe for sugar cookies and frosting and we got to do the rest. Luckily we had all the ingredients and got to work.
Xander took his job very seriously. He rolled, he cut……..
he carefully placed cookies on the cookie sheet.
While he did that Sebastian was busy eating cookie dough…….
refusing to share the rolling pin……..
and checking to see if the dough tasted any different when it was still on the rolling pin.
The first cookie frosted. It's an ice cream cone in case you can't tell.
We had lots of frosting and different kinds of sprinkles and Xander did a great job…..seriously, some of his looked better than some of mine. He did a cool rocket with a blue window, red rocket, and then used white frosting and yellow sprinkles to make the fire coming out of the bottom. I really should have taken a picture of that one!
Sebastian was not really interested in frosting at the beginning, but then he decided to give it a try. He put frosting on one cookie, and candies on another and then he was done. Using a knife is tough for a almost two year old!
Peace and quiet while the hard work was being done.
The floor and barstools looked even worse by the time we were done. It needed mopped anyway! Thankfully I had mentally prepared for a mess (something I don't always do) so it didn't stress me out like it sometimes does.
End result, yummy cookies, and 2 happy boys!
At the bottom of the picture you can see the boys names and Xander also wanted to do their ages, which are the cookies they are holding in their hands. Xander decided Sebastian was close enough to 2 so that is the number we used! Good times, good memories, good boys.

What a good mum (I'm British now) you are. Love the pics. Those boys are growing too fast!
